During his 40 year career in Civil Engineering, Mr. Hamilton held positions of increasing responsibility all dedicated to the successful completion of a variety of major highway, complex bridge, and public facility construction projects.
Upon graduating from the University of Connecticut in 1983 with a degree in Civil Engineering, James embarked on a 28 year career at the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) where he served as a Construction Inspector, Chief Inspector, Project Engineer, Geotechnical Design Engineer, Supervising Engineer, and ultimately a District Manager.
Mr. Hamilton transitioned to private sector Consulting in 2011. He has served as a Construction Engineering (CEI) Resident Engineer, CEI Project Manager, and CEI Director of Services. Clients included Federal, State, and Local Agencies as well as private firms.
The primary responsibility of each of these career positions was to ensure quality results by embracing a team approach, communicating honestly and effectively, encouraging contractor collaboration, applying appropriate resources, and demanding strict compliance with plans and specifications.
Now, as a Florida resident and licensed professional, James is working independently as the owner of ACRUX Engineers, LLC with a vision of providing efficient and personalized Engineering Services to public agencies, contractors, and private clients.
Mr. Hamilton carries forward a wealth of experience and a continuing dedication to timely project delivery, efficiency, and superior workmanship.
